Do you ever wish you could learn meditation, but don’t think you have time? Do you think you have to sit in a quiet room humming ‘Omm’ to be mindful? Think again.
The aim of The Mindful Disco is to teach mindfulness meditation while emphasising that you can be doing anything you like while practicing this style of meditation. We explore the different ways you can focus your attention using the pillars of mindfulness and our seven senses, whilst listening and dancing to music.
A truly unique and inspiring (this is not a boast, just a simple fact, according to feedback) way of teaching mindfulness meditation that involves introducing you to -
The seven pillars of mindfulness
The seven senses (yep, I’ll explain the other two 😮) and how you can use them to connect with the present moment. Seven different ways of listening to music and Shaking Technique, the scientifically and medically proven technique that literally shakes out tension, stress, worries, anxiety, frustrations, and anger, both physically, mentally and emotionally….

There is a short version of this called -
Family Sensory Mindful Experience
(45 minutes) aimed at families, and anyone (individuals or groups) of any age, wanting a briefer experience.
£4- per child (under 16)
£5- per adult (16 and above)
And then there is a more in-depth, more educational version (for 60-90 minutes) aimed at anyone aged 16 and above, where we can be grown-ups about this and really get into it 😀

So why’s it called
the Mindful Disco then ?
It’s not - it’s called NO OM
NO OM is a cross between a mindfulness meditation session and that time when you shut yourself in your bedroom and turned the music up - YES that was mindful meditation, it’s focusing on the moment and letting go of everything else -beautiful wasn’t it ?
Let us introduce you to The Seven Pillars of Mindfulness, Shaking Technique, and explore the Seven Senses (yep I’ll explain the other two) while listening to music in Seven different ways,
all played live on vinyl 😊

WHO WE ARE.
I’m Morgan
I’m one half of The Mindful Disco.
2 things that I’m passionate about are
music and meditation.
I began buying vinyl in 1972 when I was 9, and have since been into Glam Rock, Punk, Ska, Reggae, Northern Soul, Acid House, to name but a few.
I have a radio show on Vinyl Night Radio at 8pm every Wednesday .
I run a Vinyl Night at FEED generalstore in Heaton Chapel on the first Friday of
every month.
I discovered mindfulness meditation when training and running middle and long distance running for my school at the age
of 13.
I have been practicing ever since, both.
I trained as a meditation teacher with the British School of Meditation.
I am engaged by companies and schools, volunteer for the Counselling and Family Centre in Altrincham and Calm Connections in Stretford, and facilitate mindfulness drop-in groups all over the country and online, every week through my website, mind-well.co.uk.
The idea of The Mindful Disco is to educate, and facilitate the practicing of meditation for those of you who “haven’t got time to meditate”, and emphasise the practical solutions to ‘normal’ stress, worry, and anxiety.

I'm Janey
The other half of The Mindful Disco. I'm mum to a brilliant 5 year old, a British School of Meditation trained meditation teacher and a lover of music, especially disco.
I love meditating, I love music and I love dancing. Although make no mistake, neither of us are dance teachers, we just like to move in our own way to music! Somehow, having never played a vinyl record before, I ended up with my own radio show on Vinyl Night Radio (Thursdays at 7pm) and it was from this shared love of music and meditation that The Mindful Disco has evolved.
We are both passionate about showing people the many ways in which they can incorporate meditation into their daily lives and what better way to do that than by listening to music?
All you need to do is show up and we will do the rest. All ages are welcome, from newborns upwards, in fact some of the grooviest movers we have seen have been the youngest.

We teach two versions of the Mindful Disco, one aimed at children and families, and for anyone who would like a briefer introduction, this usually lasts around 30 minutes with an ‘after party’ of about 15 minutes and is the Family Sensory Mindful Experience.
The second version is longer and covers things in more depth. This one, NO OM is aimed at over 16-year-olds and is around 60 minutes in length with an ‘after party’ of 30 minutes.
